About The Taylor Conservatory Wedding Venue

While a stroll through Taylor Conservatory may feel unique and almost other-worldly, it is actually a ⅓ scale replica of the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Island in Detroit. A series of beautiful gardens, pathways, and woodlands, Taylor Conservatory is a nonprofit open to the public for everyone to enjoy. It has several designated areas throughout the property perfect for outdoor weddings. Including The Dome Structure, Masco Pavilion, Blue Stone Terrace, Woodland Trails, Great Lawn, and White Pines. They book Taylor Conservatory wedding events June through September. Just when the weather is perfect!

Details of the Grounds

A Taylor Conservatory wedding is romantic, whimsical, and colorful. They only have outdoor venues. But you can absolutely rent a tent to ensure you and your guests are protected in case of unexpected weather.

There are several spots for you to exchange your vows at Taylor Conservatory, and each has its own unique personality. The most popular is the open-air Conservatory, the only one of its kind in Michigan. It is filled with seasonal displays of flowers from May to October. Its ornate structure is every greenhouse-lover’s dream, and surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful flowers, it’s a quintessential garden venue.

Another option for a ceremony, or even a reception, is The Masco Pavilion. It has a timber cathedral ceiling that is perfect for keeping your celebration covered. It allows all of the beauty of the surrounding conservatory in while making sure everyone stays dry, just in case of unexpected weather. Decorate it however you want to make it feel uniquely yours on your one-of-a-kind wedding day!

Photography Opportunities

If the garden/greenhouse aesthetic is what you’re looking for, then you’ll be in heaven at the Taylor Conservatory wedding venue. The open-air greenhouse is perfect for elegant portraits with seasonal greenery and is a mix of a vintage aesthetic and something contemporary and modern. The property also has quaint wooden docks that stretch out over lakes with beautiful fountains, perfect for romantic waterfront portraits. Plus, there are plenty of gardens, beautiful romantic lighting, and so many other beautiful spots for us to get gorgeous photos of you and your partner. When it comes to the little things, I’ll make sure we capture every wonderful detail of your wedding!
