Wall of Trees...yes, please! | Stony Creek Metropark | Engagement
Stony Creek Metropark Engagement
Shelby Charter Township, Michigan
It had been a good minute since I’ve been here and honestly I wish I saw the park in better condition. As a “Leave No Trace” aware photographer make sure you clean up after yourself and leave the park better than you found it. I was sad to see smashed pumpkin all over and balloons strings high up in the branches. You have to be careful and protect nature and its environment. (Rant over!)
I really love how flexible both Katelyn + Mike were about scheduling their engagement session. I’ve been testing out this new scheduler and sometimes it would double book or schedule on a day where I had planned to be out of state, which is one schedule that had to be redone. I had plans to be in New Mexico and Utah for some styled shoots with friends and my favorite wedding workshop, but even after all that COVID is boss and ultimately, I could no longer go to both…but we still kept our rescheduled date! COVID is pretty known in 2020 for that…unpredictable EVERYTHING and rescheduling EVERYTHING. (Is it over yet?)
We walked around the nature center (for which I had never been in that area actually) and anything with nature in it, I’m down and always get super inspired so I love that they enjoyed the park too. We walked, laughed and chatted and made our way over to the popular tree spot in the park and thats where I saw all the mess and NO JOKE record amount of photographers all in one area. In my 5 years, I have NEVER seen more than 2 photographers in a spot and here I probably saw like 6-7 all trying to share this space during golden hour. I was so baffled, but we still found ways to have fun, per usual!! <3
P.S. PLEASE BE GOOFY WITH ME (Like K + M blanket stealth mode!!
You are free to do so AND put your hands ALLLLLLL over each other!!!)
